This fine jewelry collection for all occasions, made by using plique-a-jour and 18 karat gold, have evolved from nature, borrowing impressions from the earth, sea and sky. Life captures the essence of nature's smallest details in earth's creatures. Ribbons of precious 18-karat gold filigree wire fused with specially formulated glass create breathtaking jewelry and objects d'art.

As it was in Spain from generations ago, the glass is still ground by hand. To obtain this excellent plique-a-jour enamel, the chief enameler, professor Pilar Cuende, uses a liquid mixture of water, powdered glass and metallic oxides. The mixture is applied with a brush, like a painting, and baked layer after layer, up to 20 times or more, in a special oven reaching over 1000 degrees Celsius to create these magnificent objects d'art.

Plique-a-jour translates to “light of day”. This most beautiful and difficult enameling technique resembles miniature stained glass. This time consuming process of plique-a-jour enameling readily brings to mind the skilled craftsmanship of great Art Nouveau jewelers and artists.

Due to the fact that all processes are hand made, the sizes and weights of the jewels and the color of the enamels will create a truly unique piece, and will never be exactly identical.

This exquisite collection of plique-a-jour hand made jewelry is entirely produced in Barcelona, Spain, under the leadership of fifth generation jeweler Pere Arquer.

Most of the Life Collection object d'art creations can easily be converted from pin to pendant with a specially designed 18 karat gold chain.
